Type of components
to be cooled: All screw-mounted types
Applications:
Power conversion, traction drives, military & civil electronics,
broadcasting
General presentation:
Air cooling is still the most common cooling technique in
all industries because it is the simplest to set up. And yet,
today's electronic components dissipate ever increasing amounts
of power, pushing air cooling to its physical limits.
That is why Ferraz Shawmut Thermal Management has been developing
the Radiacal® range of air cooling products over the years,
mainly to meet the needs of the aeronautics and telecommunications
markets.
Product presentation:
Radiacal® Corrugated consists of an aluminum base on which
aluminum fins, formed mechanically from narrow strip, are
bonded or soldered.
This makes it possible to reduce the spacing of the fins and
thus increase the heat exchange surfaces required for today's
thermal stresses.
This technology offers great flexibility in product design
and great thermal efficiency for a lightweight product.
Surface treatments such as chemical nickel plating, tin plating
or anodizing are all possible.

Advantages to the soldered-fin
Radiacal®:
Great flexibility in design, reduced mass thanks to the use
of corrugated fins, and excellent thermal performances are
the product's main qualities.
Those qualities make it the perfect choice for applications
in aeronautics.
